Tomorrow the equinox arrives. Tomorrow ends longer days as we pass through a moment of balance between light and dark.
I have been watching the sun moving south along the morning fence line. It comes a bit later, a slight degree to the right each day. Like a cosmic mobile of yin and yang, the seasons spin through their annual cycles in constant motion toward darkness, then toward light, back to darkness, and again into light.
How might we gain balance in the relentless tides of light and dark? Find the yin inside the yang, find the yang inside the yin, accept the necessity of both the brightness and the shadow.
Balance begins in the deep quiet of a calm mind.
